Even though the economy is in turmoil, I bought my first house in November. While I am excited about it, it seems like things never end. I bought it as a foreclosure, so there were some things that I needed to fix and paint. Trying to juggle fixing the house with work, school and having some kind of social life, is taking its toll.
But in the end, it will be worth it. I just have to keep my eye on the prize. Over the past 5 years, real estate near the DC area has been ridiculous. I would have never been able to afford a townhouse (ranging from 300k to over 700k), much less a single family house at the age of 25. I am confident that over the next 5 years, the market will pick back up and my investment will pay off big time!
I’d love to stay around and chat, but back to painting :/

Congratulations on the house Gary! It is a wise investment and a good time to buy. It can only go up.
Very nice looking house too!
Gary,
I was curious about the significance of the crying eagle? Not trying to get political, if that was the intent, just curious. Good luck with house.
